Privacy

Modern Recovery Lab handles personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's federal private-sector privacy law, and, because health-related details may pass through our forms, with regard for Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA).

What we collect

Only what you type into our forms or tell us on the phone. Depending on the form, that can include your name, email address, phone number, postal code, the body area you're recovering, a surgery date, your surgeon's name, whether you hold a prescription, whether a WCB or insurance claim is involved, and anything you add in the message box. Clinician and facility forms collect business contact details instead.

Why we collect it

For exactly one purpose: to contact you and arrange the rental, referral or quote you asked about. We don't use form submissions for marketing lists, we don't sell or share them with advertisers, and we don't build profiles.

Where it goes

An inquiry, referral or quote form is relayed by email to our team inbox (modernrecoverylab@gmail.com). The form service validates your submission and sends the email; its logs record only technical metadata (which form, when, success or failure), never the contents.

Booking online is different, and we store it. See below.

Booking a rental online

If you book and pay online, we create an order record and keep it. It holds your name, email address, phone number, delivery address and any delivery notes, the body area and wrap you chose, how long you are renting for, your surgery date and the delivery and return dates we work out from it, the amount you paid, and, if you gave them, your surgeon's and facility's names. We keep it because we cannot deliver a machine to you, collect it again, or answer a question about your rental without it.

Your card details never reach us. Payment is taken on Stripe's own page. We receive a reference to the payment and the amount — never a card number, expiry date, security code or cardholder name — and none of those are stored anywhere in our systems.

We keep an order record while your rental is live and afterwards for as long as our accounting and tax obligations require, then delete it. We do not use it for marketing, we do not sell or share it with advertisers, and no part of it reaches any analytics tool. Session recording is switched off entirely on every booking step.

To see what we hold against a booking, correct it, or ask us to delete it, quote your order number to modernrecoverylab@gmail.com or call 647-502-7444. Where we must keep a financial record to meet a legal obligation, we will tell you which parts we cannot delete yet and when they go.

Cookies and analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-focused measurement tool. It does not track you across sites and sets no cookies. Our forms are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which verifies you're human without the puzzle-solving.

With your permission we also use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to see which pages help visitors and where the site can improve. They stay switched off until you choose "Allow analytics" in the banner; "No thanks" leaves them off. Neither is ever told what you type into a form: Google Analytics receives only the page you are on and a few named actions (for example, starting or submitting an inquiry), with advertising features off, and Clarity is never loaded on any page that contains a form or on the booking steps. Your choice is remembered in your browser (not in a cookie). You can change it at any time with "Analytics choices" in the page footer; withdrawing stops both tools from loading and clears their cookies.

Retention

Emails generated by the forms live in our business inbox and are kept only as long as needed to serve you and meet our legal obligations, after which they're deleted. Order records created by an online booking are kept as described under Booking a rental online above.

Your rights

You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to modernrecoverylab@gmail.com or call 647-502-7444 and we'll act on it promptly. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
